🎨 Discover how simple coloring can help explore big feelings and create calm, one page at a time.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) helps children recognize, understand, and manage their emotions. When taught early, kids are better prepared to handle frustration, build empathy, and communicate clearly.
Give your child a blank face template or outline of Mimo the chameleon. Ask them to choose colors to represent their feelings: red for anger, blue for sadness, yellow for joy, etc.
Use tracing worksheets with words like HAPPY, ANGRY, or CALM. As they trace, ask them: 'When do you feel this way?' This builds vocabulary and emotional literacy.
Draw simple stories together. For example, 'Mimo wanted to play but it rained.' Then ask: 'How do you think Mimo feels?' Let them color the scene and the feeling.
Our book 'Trace & Color: My Big Feelings' is designed for children aged 3 to 7 to explore emotions in a calm, screen-free way. It includes 26 SEL-based coloring activities guided by Mimo the chameleon.
